Excelsior was awarded for its OWL online writing lab, which helps students with documentation and grammar, and is accessed from computers, tablets or smartphones. Northern Virginia Community College won for an open education resource project that allows students in 15 courses to avoid purchasing textbooks, Campus Technology reported.
The awards are meant to recognize innovative technology solutions to problems facing higher ed.
