- Forbes on Wednesday unveiled its 2014 list of the “most entrepreneurial universities," and Stanford University takes the No. 1 spot.
- Five of the top 10 schools on the list are located in California.
- Rounding out the top 10, in descending order, are: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of California-Berkeley, Cornell University, University of California-Los Angeles, California Institute of Technology, Brown University, Princeton University, Pepperdine University, and Dartmouth College.
Dive Insight:
Stanford admissions officers are stifling another yawn — another list, another top ranking. Forbes based the list on little more than a LinkedIn search, comparing the number of alumni and students from a school who identify themselves as founders and business owners to its total number of undergraduate and graduate students. So the data is obviously skewed to favor schools that produce the most LinkedIn members per capita — but as with any college ranking list, it’s a good conversation starter.
