- LinkedIn has launched three new features aimed at college-bound high school students to help them decide what school to apply to and what courses to take.
- The Decision Boards feature — touted by LinkedIn as a unique “social decision-making tool” — will allow users to ask their connections for advice about college and to meet people who are already attending or teaching at a certain college.
- Another feature, University Outcome Rankings, will allow users to see a big-data analysis of all LinkedIn profiles to rank schools based on the success of their graduates in certain careers, TechCrunch reported.

The third tool is University Finder, which allows prospective students to match themselves with colleges or universities based on their career and job location preferences, along with other criteria. The new tools are aimed at not only building LinkedIn’s social media audience with the college-bound, and then in-college, student populations, but also to build a presence with higher ed institutions.
