Dive Brief:
- Coursera on Tuesday launched its iOS app, letting students take its MOOCs on the go.
- The app is still basic, being what Coursera calls "data-light and user-friendly," but features include course browsing, searching and enrolling; personal dashboard viewing; downloading and streaming of videos; syllabus access; and quiz taking.
- Coursera also plans to release an Android app "soon."
Dive Insight:
For now, several activities, including posting to discussion forums, reading materials and completing assignments will still require you to visit the company's website. Coursera promises "much more on the way for 2014," though, so the app will likely see the addition of many more features — and platforms — before all is said and done.
