Winter Park, Fla. — Dec. 15, 2014 — With high-quality assessments based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), teachers can continuously use evidence of learning to adapt and adjust their instruction. To provide the timely data teachers need to move all learners forward, Performance Matters™ is partnering with Key Data Systems (KDS) to offer new Common Core items and assessments as part of the Unify™ next generation assessment platform. Unify is the first social platform designed for educators anywhere to collaboratively develop, administer, and share assessments aligned to all standards, including the Common Core, state, and course-specific standards.
Through this partnership, Performance Matters customers can now subscribe to the KDS INSPECT® Assessment Solution, which includes an innovative formative assessment item bank and a suite of over 200 pre-built assessments, including interim and end-of-year assessments. In addition to traditional item types, the INSPECT Item Bank includes the most comprehensive collection of technology-enhanced items available in the market, designed to emulate those administered on end-of-year high-stakes exams.
“Our partnership with Key Data Systems allows us to offer our customers an affordable solution for high-quality assessment items, written specifically for and aligned to the CCSS and other high-rigor state standards,” said Woody Dillaha, CEO and co-founder of Performance Matters. “Using the INSPECT Assessment Solution with Unify, teachers can get easy access to the items they need to prepare students for online, high-stakes assessments, as well as real-time data to make decisions about how to best improve classroom instruction and student achievement.”
The INSPECT formative assessment item bank, which is now offered through the Unify platform, has more than 32,000 English language arts and math items aligned to Common Core or state academic standards, and a national bank of over 14,000 history and science items. Several hundred new items are added to the bank each month. Schools can administer the KDS assessments online or via plain paper scanning, and access comprehensive reporting and analytics as student assessments are scored.
“Performance Matters helps complete Key Data Systems’ vision of having a conclusive impact on student learning,” said Leanne Holland, CEO, Operations. “With the exemplary content of the INSPECT Item Bank provided by Key Data Systems and the technology provided by Performance Matters, teachers and administrators will have access to a complete solution geared to support them to achieve 21st century assessment expectations.”
