Learning Objects, part of Cengage Learning, today announced the appointment of Deborah Everhart, Ph.D., as Vice President of Design and Innovation. In this role, Everhart will design and manage product strategy for delivering competency-based, personalized and adaptive learning to institutions and other education providers.
An expert on competency-based learning and credentialing, Everhart brings more than 20 years of experience to Cengage Learning. Most recently, she served as an Associate Vice President at Blackboard Inc., where she provided thought leadership and business strategy for the development, delivery and marketing of software systems and consulting solutions. She has served as a strategic advisor to the American Council on Education, and she is currently an adjunct assistant professor at Georgetown University, where she teaches a competency-based medieval studies course in liberal arts.
