Arizona State U. to get Walmart on campus this fall
- Arizona State University's Vista Del Sol residential project, which houses nearly 2,000 students, is getting a Walmart on campus store this fall, though specifics on the new store are scarce.
- The retail giant previously operated a "pop-up" store at the campus' Memorial Union during 2010 to serve new students moving onto campus, and it has since opened campus stores at Georgia Tech and the University of Arkansas , which offer groceries, beauty products, general items, a pharmacy and a financial services center.
- A donation of $27.5 million to the university's Global Institute of Sustainability last year by Walmart chairman Rob Walton and his wife, Melanie, was the fourth-largest gift ASU ever received.
