- Blackboard on Tuesday announced its acquisition of help desk and student services provider Perceptis.
- The acquisition of the South Carolina-based company expands Blackboard's student support services, as support specialists in the company's two operation centers facilitate enrollment, financial aid, administrative, and tech support processes formore than 1.4 million students, faculty, and staff nationwide each year.
- More than 500 institutions are expected to benefit from the deal, which will see support teams operate out of five centers across the U.S.

This is Blackboard's second acquisition this year, following MyEdu, and is equally strategic as the company doubles down on education services. The company is continuing to expand beyond its well-known LMS as it develops a more comprehensive array of solutions for the entire school, with tools that assist institutional operations as well as improving student outcomes.
