Blackboard's Innovative Classroom solution selected by Arizona Dept. of Ed.
- Blackboard announced Tuesday that its Innovative Classroom solution was selected by the Arizona Department of Education to support 60,000 teachers at 2,000 public schools statewide.
- The decision was made as part of an effort by the ADE to streamline technical assistance, service, and support as it puts in place the state's College and Career Ready Standards.
- The move will also standardize the online platforms and tools used by Arizona's public schools, as 70 were already using various Blackboard products, solutions, and services.
Blackboard was selected by the state following a thorough evaluation process, and with the Innovative Classroom solution, educators in the state can now utilize online and mobile learning, as well as real-time video interaction and collaboration. The platform also integrates with other systems used by ADE, so teachers will be able to register for classes, pay course fees, and track certification and endorsement progress from a single system.
As it probably goes without saying, standardizing one solution for the entire state is beneficial to everyone, as it streamlines processes across school, district, and county lines, hopefully lessening confusion along the way.
