- Solano Community College in Northern California has made a deal with Pearson in which the institution gets free use of the vendor's learning management system and will allow its 11,000 students to opt to pay a flat fee of about $80 to use Pearson ebooks and all supplementary digital materials in courses that use Pearson texts.
- The institution will be provided with Pearson's LMS, LearningStudio, for faculty and students, as well as the MyLab and Mastering series of courses, CourseConnect customizable courses, and the Pearson eText content library.
- Faculty aren't required to use Pearson materials (only 30-35% of them do), but may use any of the publisher's digital materials in face-to-face, online or blended courses.
