Congress calls for public input on Higher Education Act renewal
- The Republican chairman and top Democrat on the U.S. House of Representatives' education committee issued a letter Thursday requesting input from students, parents, colleges, employers and others with a stake in higher education regarding the 2014 renewal of the Higher Education Act.
- Feedback the two congressmen are especially interested in includes how to "empower students as consumers," simplify student aid, reduce costs and increase accessibility, affordability and completion.
- Feedback will be accepted via [email protected] until the Aug. 2 deadline.
