Coursmos to launch new corporate micro-courses, invest in expansion
- Online learning company Coursmos has raised $600,000 from investors for a version of its platform for companies that want to train their employees.
- Coursmos will also use part of the new funding for expanding its business, including a relaunching of its mobile applications, TechCrunch reported.
- Coursmos, which launched in 2013, has raised a total of $1.2 million from investors, with another round of fundraising scheduled for September.
Will the Coursmos initiative compete with higher education institutions that offer continuing education programs for adult learners? And should those institutions offer similar micro-courses? Coursmos will build its corporate version to be loaded on company education systems by company system administrators, allowing their employees to access the training in the office and on mobile devices outside the office. The Coursmos platform makes personalized learning recommendations based on a user’s learning progression, engagement, and interests. Coursmos has 520,000 users.
