Dell announces that 8 universities have adopted its learning and research solutions [Educause 2014]
- Dell announced on Monday at Educause that its solutions were implemented by eight colleges and universities to address technology, learning, and research innovation issues.
- Dell OpenStack Cloud is being used at the Universities of Kentucky and Alabama at Birmingham; Dell Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and Unified Communications is in use at Hawaii Pacific University; Dell analytics solutions are now in place at Harper College, Concordia University, and the University of Alaska; and the company's mobility solutions and services are in use at UNC-Chapel Hill and Emory University.
- The computer giant is also hosting a series of sessions on BYOD, data analytics, data privacy, and student voice at the conference in conjunction with its Innovation in Teaching and Learning Think Tank series. Executives will also appear in several Advanced Thought Leadership panels.
With all of the spotlight that other tech companies get in education, Dell's presence sometimes doesn't get the attention it deserves. Aside from the aforementioned solutions it provides to colleges like those listed above, a vast majority of campus computers are often Dells. If you want to check out any of the company's sessions and panels at Educause, it has a page dedicated to the conference here.
