Florida community college professor fired for telling students to vote Obama
- Brevard Community College Associate Professor Sharon Sweet lost her job following the revelation that she pressured students to vote for President Barack Obama in November, going so far as to force them to sign pledge cards in some cases.
- College trustees voted 3-1 Wednesday morning in favor of Sweet's termination, with Steven Charpentier voting against because he felt that her actions only deserved punishment and not termination.
- Sweet's attorney, Thomas Brooks, says they plan to appeal the decision, either by requesting a hearing with the Board of Trustees or by filing a grievance with the union.
