Four charged in hazing deaths of two VSU students
- Four members of a non-university sanctioned social club known as "Men of Honor" were charged with hazing in the drowning deaths of two Virginia State University freshmen.
- Between 12:30 and 1 a.m. Saturday, the four men--two of whom were also VSU students--were overseeing seven VSU students' final initiation ritual into the group that involved crossing the Appomattox River when the current swept two of the students downstream.
- One of the bodies was recovered late Monday afternoon, and search and recovery efforts for the second body will continue Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.

He said a representative of Men of Honor tried to register the group as a campus organization about a year ago “but did not get as far as the application process.” ...
