- Lucasfilm issued a statement Wednesday indicating that George Lucas will donate much of the $4 billion that Disney paid for the company to education causes.
- "I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education," the statement read. "It is the key to the survival of the human race."
- Lucas, who is the chairman at the George Lucas Educational Foundation's Edutopia, put his name on the Warren Buffet and Bill Gates Giving Pledge in 2010, promising to give most of his wealth to charities and other philanthropic causes.
