GVSU to offer car sharing program for students
- On Oct. 15, Grand Valley State University will launch a partnership with Enterprise rental car company's WeCar, which allows customers to rent a vehicle by the hour.
- Tim Thimmesch, vice president for Facilities Services, says that while students may be able to get around easily via bus, the cars will provide an occasional convenience for getting to doctor's appointments, visiting parents or traveling where public transportation does not.
- Two vehicles--a Ford Focus and a Ford Fusion--will be available on campus initially, and that offering could be expanded with enough demand.
