Hazing gets TSU students suspended and banned from band
- Ten students from the trumpet section of Texas Southern University's band involved in hazing were suspended, had scholarships revoked, and were permanently kicked out of the band, announced a university task force Tuesday.
- A statement from the university says previous suspensions have been lifted for other members of the Ocean of Soul Marching Band, and that their performances will be reduced and closely monitored.
- The incident at TSU comes in the wake of a scandal involving the hazing death of a band member at Florida A&M university.
