Kansas University opens office for harassment and discrimination reports
- This fall, Kansas University opened its office of Institutional Opportunity and Access to deal specifically with complaints of discrimination or harassment.
- Previously, any student, faculty or staff who became the victim of sexual harassment or racial discrimination would have to submit their complaint to the university's Department of Human Resources, or the case may have been handled internally by an academic department.
- The new office's first act was sending out a mandatory online sexual harassment training course to the institution's more than 30,000 students, faculty and staff.
