- Missouri State University has received an insurance check for $1 million after $1.2 million was taken from the school's bookstore, the Springfield News-Leader reports.
- Mark Brixey, who pleaded guilty in March to embezzling money from the school's textbook buyback program, still faces as many as 43 years in prison for the crime.
- Brixey was caught after $81,000 was found in his desk in 2012.
