- Former Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee is set to become interim president at West Virginia University.
- Ohio State did not say whether Gee, now a law professor at OSU, would continue to work for OSU once he takes the temporary position at West Virginia.
- Gee was president at West Virginia University from 1981 to 1985 and would be replacing James P. Clements, who said last month he would leave to become president of Clemson University.
Gee retired from the OSU presidency this year after he said "you just can't trust those damn Catholics" in reference to Notre Dame. Since then, he has been asked to lead a task force on college affordability.
