Princeton's first female president, Shirley Tilghman, to step down In June
- Princeton University President Shirley Tilghman will step down in June after 11 years of leading the prestigious school.
- The 66-year-old, who was the first female president of the Ivy League university, announced her resignation during a board of trustees meeting Saturday, where she received praise for a variety of major initiatives that she oversaw during her tenure.
- Tilghman taught classes each semester while president and will return to the school in a faculty role in fall 2014.
