'Science on wheels' exhibit hopes to inspire STEM pursuits in Texas students
- During a special ceremony at the 3M Austin Innovation Center Thursday, the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering debuted a 40-foot trailer loaded with interactive exhibits to promote STEM education to underrepresented minority and female students in Texas.
- The Trailblazer II's five 'science on wheels' exhibits are focused on space, energy, weather, aerodynamics and biotechnology, and are meant to encourage students in the third through eighth grades to explore science and math.
- 3M, BASF, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Shell helped raise over $250,000 for the development of the Trailblazer II, the second in TAME's Trailblazer fleet.
