Sony shows off 13.3-inch e-ink slate prototype at Japanese education expo
- Sony's plans to market a 13.3-inch e-ink slate with stylus support to students were announced earlier this week, and the tech giant took the opportunity show off a prototype of the new device at Japan's Educational IT Solutions Expo.
- The tablet is being co-developed by Sony and E-Ink, matches the A4 size of normal paper, has a flexible and lightweight plastic E-Ink Mobius display, is 0.27-inch thick and weights 12.6 ounces, and has 4GB of onboard storage with microSD support and WiFi for sharing notes with other students.
- Diginfo has video of the tablet in action at the Educational IT Solutions Expo, and Sony plans to test it at three Japanese universities later this year before making it commercially available.
