- The university hired Knoxville attorney Beecher Bartlett to investigate the allegations against Wright, who worked for the office since 2008 and attempted to step down on Thursday before her resignation was refused by the university.
- On Friday, Provost Susan Martin sent a pre-termination letter to Wright, who was given the opportunity to meet on Monday and discuss her status but didn't show up, and Wright's attorney, Robert Kurtz, says she initially stepped down because she didn't want the accusations to overshadow her work with students and crime victims.
