Students at five Penn. state colleges now allowed to carry concealed weapons
- Students at five Pennsylvania state universities including Kutztown, Shippensburg, Edinboro, Slippery Rock and Millersville are now allowed to carry concealed weapons.
- The policy change comes after concerns from attorneys in the state's Office of General Counsel and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education that outright bans on concealed weapons could be considered unconstitutional and open to lawsuits.
- Though the policy allows students to carry weapons on campus, they are still barred from bringing them into school buildings and athletic events.

The email message said: "While I am cognizant of the concerns associated with this change, as a state institution we must follow the advice of legal counsel and do what is necessary to comply with the Second Amendment. I can assure you that we have done everything to implement the strongest policy possible, while staying in compliance with constitutional rights." ...
