Study: 92% of top colleges using social networking on websites
- A new study in The Journal of College Admission finds that while Facebook is the most popular tool among the social networking tools being used on the websites of the top 100 colleges and universities ranked by U.S. News & World Report, their social networking philosophies differ.
- According to the study, 92 of the top 100 schools make use of an average of 3.7 social networking sites on their own websites, and one is even using as many as seven social networking services.
- Grant Greenwood, an admissions counselor at Hardin-Simmons University who conducted the research, wrote in his analysis of the figures that colleges aren't faced with a question of whether to use social media, but how to use it.
