- The City University of New York announced Tuesday that former CIA director David H. Petraeus will serve as a visiting professor of public policy next academic year in the university's Macaulay Honors College.
- Petraeus' lawyer, Robert Barnett, said the former CIA director and retired four-star general was approached by several universities, but chose CUNY because he liked its diverse student population, location and offerings.
- Keeping with his research interest in energy, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and information technology, Petraeus will lead a seminar that looks at developments capable of placing the U.S. in a position to lead the world out of the economic downturn, and Macaulay Dean Ann Kirschner says he will also give talks and meet with students to discuss their research projects.
