U. of Hawaii CIO to become interim president
- At a special July 30 board meeting, the University of Hawaii Board of Regents is expected to issue a final vote appointing David Lassner as the university's interim president.
- Lassner—who, if approved, will begin the new role Sept. 1—has been with UH since 1977 and is currently its vice president for information technology and chief information officer.
- Lassner was one of two or three potential candidates selected by a Regents task group in June to serve in the position upon MRC Greenwood's Aug. 31 retirement.

"I am honored at the confidence and trust placed in me by the Board of Regents. I look forward to working together with my colleagues throughout the UH System and with the community to advance our agenda to serve the people of Hawai'i." ...
