U. of Houston sit-in ends as teaching fellows are promised $1M
- Beginning last Wednesday, English teaching fellows at the University of Houston staged a sit-in at the reception area of University of Houston Chancellor Renu Khator's office.
- The fellows wanted a raise in wages and on Monday, Khator, who was on leave for the last 10 days, met with them and agreed to allot an extra $1 million toward increasing wages for graduate students teaching core curriculum at the university.
- Khator also expressed interest in setting up a university-wide task force dedicated to supporting teaching assistants and fellows.
