UCF allows instructor who made 'killing spree' joke to return to work
- Hyung-Il Jung, a lecturer at the University of Central Florida's Rosen College of Hospitality Management, is cleared by the university to teach a class this summer.
- Jung was placed on paid administrative leave after he made a comment about a "killing spree" in an April 23 exam review session, though almost 20 of his students e-mailed the university demanding his return and explaining that they knew his comment was meant as a joke.
- Though UCF officials found that the comment was harmless, they said it was inappropriate given its timing just weeks after the university experienced a killing spree scare.
