Part of UTEP’s mission is to help people from underserved sectors, including Hispanic communities, earn degrees, and the online programs are aimed at underserved students in the region, as well as nationally. The programs will also help adult learners get degrees. The university has 23,000 students and has been named the No. 1 national university for social mobility by Washington Monthly for the last three years. For the 2014 ranking, Washington Monthly reported that UTEP had 59% of its students receiving Pell grants and a net price of $3,258.
