- The Yale College Committee on Online Education recommended in a report Tuesday that the school offer for-credit courses online for undergraduates and general public during the regular school year.
- The report also encourages Yale faculty members to experiment with Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) platforms and other means of sharing their work with larger audiences.
- The recommendations will be discussed at a Yale College faculty meeting scheduled for Thursday.
From the article:
"... Bloom said online courses will be held to the same standard as courses held on-campus and that the Course Selection Committee will vet them extensively. Course admission will be conducted through an application process, he said, and non-Yale students who would like to apply will face the same admissions standards as enrolled undergraduates. ..."
