SOMERVILLE, Mass., February 25, 2014 – Award-winning educational technology website BoomWriter Media unveiled today its newest feature: online Common Core aligned English Language Arts lesson plans that are free for registered BoomWriter teachers. The lesson plans provide engaging and interactive ways to incorporate the skill of crafting narrative content into a variety of writing styles. Spanning upper elementary, middle, and high school ELA curriculum, the lesson plans convey how teachers can easily incorporate literacy standards and technology into their classrooms.
The lesson plans coincide with the BoomWriter interactive writing platform and provide step-by-step instructions on how teachers can integrate the suggested lesson plan’s elements into their BoomWriter project and classroom. BoomWriter offers lesson plans that target literature and story writing, as well as crafting personal narratives.
“Many of the ideas for the lesson plans have stemmed from our own user base,” said Chris Twyman, co-founder and CEO of BoomWriter. “Teachers have found new and creative uses for BoomWriter in their classrooms,” said Twyman, “and they have shared their stories with us, prompting us to make the BoomWriter site all the more engaging, effective, and easy to use for teachers.”
Teachers can preview a lesson plan from both literature/story writing and personal narrative writing. Access to the entire lesson plan simply requires a BoomWriter registration, which is also free for teachers. The lessons are sure to provide students with an engaging and academically effective 21st century learning experience. By using BoomWriter and the new lesson plans, teachers can easily and effectively incorporate technology into their classrooms.
