“Why Are Teachers Failing The Teacher Certification Exam?”
Tutors 4 Teachers to the Rescue!
Live Chat with Nationwide Panel Discussion with special invited guests from ETS, NEA and a host of educators.
New Haven, CT, December 7, 2018— Tutors 4 Teachers Certification LLC and Albertus Magnus college will collaborate in a live online chat discussion with a national panel of educators. ETS (Educational Testing Service), NEA (National Education Association), Florida Department of Education, Texas Department of Education, Dr Emery Petchauer and a host of HBCU Schools have been invited to discuss the topic, “Why Are Teachers Failing the Teacher Certification Exam?”
The event, scheduled for Thursday, December 13th at 7pm, will be held at the Margaret Allman Heritage Suite -- Room 25 -- on the Campus of Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, CT. The panel will be utilizing the Blue Jeans Network Video Conferencing Service as the medium of choice. The public can view this live chat through www.facebook.com/tutors4teachers.
The purpose of this discussion is to address some to the alarming facts that plague our nation due to that fact that, nationally, over 65% of our educators have not passed the Teacher Certification Exam. Each month, approx 22,000 teachers fail the exam.
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2010-2011, employment of teachers is expected to grow by 13% between 2008 and 2018. But how can we expect this rate of growth when teachers can’t seem to pass the exam?
Nationally, federal data shows more than eight out of 10 (81.9 percent) teachers are white, while fewer than one in 10 (6.8 percent) are black. These statistics stand in sharp contrast to student demographics in U.S. public schools, where 47 percent of children are white and 16 percent are black.
An analysis by the Education Testing Service, found that candidates of color were dramatically more likely to fail the Praxis I. Black test-takers were about 40 percent less likely to pass than white test-takers, and Hispanic candidates were about 20 percent less likely.
About Tutors 4 Teachers Certification
Tutors for Teachers Certification LLC (Tutors 4 Teachers) was incorporated in 2011 by an educator. She sought music tutor resources but there were no options available. That is when she was given insight by God to find a way to help all content areas. Tutors 4 Teachers specializes in helping educators for all state and national teacher certification exams. Almost immediately, this realization was confirmed given the demand by clients/teachers for the resources that this company could provide. With an official re-launch in early 2019, the newly redesigned Tutors 4 Teachers will be in full operation, able to handle the demand in today’s society.
Owners Barbara Alexander and partner, Robert Smith IV, with both her capstone and Master’s Degree in Leadership (Albertus Magnus College, 2019), will raise the bar with Tutors 4 Teachers. The facts all point to the fact that the need is greater than ever.
