Catalyst, a center for education entrepreneurship and innovation in the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, announced today that the 2019 Milken-Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition (EBPC) is accepting applications from education innovators worldwide at educationcompetition.org.
Considered by many the premier such competition in the world, the EBPC was the first to focus exclusively on education entrepreneurship when it launched ten years ago. “We’re definitely upping how we support entrepreneurs for our tenth competition,” notes Michael Golden, executive director of Catalyst. “We’re adding a year-long continuum of informative programming to support entrepreneurs and tapping experts from all corners of the education innovation space to share their knowledge at events presented live and broadcast over the internet.” Program details can be found at online and by subscribing to the Catalyst newsletter.
Thanks to the support of the Milken Family Foundation and other sponsors, the EBPC provides entrants with the opportunity to showcase their startup, win cash prizes, gain expert advice, and engage with a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, and educators. To encourage broad participation, the application process provides guidance on how to clarify their thinking, develop a business plan and identify the materials education innovators need to make a strong pitch. Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, February 13, 2019. There is no fee to enter.
Additional EBPC details are included in a recent EdSurge Q&A.
