MERRILLVILLE – Five members from the My School Dance team volunteered to organize and set up the donation room at Campagna Academy, a non-profit organization that provides services to at-risk youth, on June 28.
Beth Szamatowicz, Director of Public Relations & Volunteer Services, said, “Campagna Academy started in 1947 when Father Campagna founded Hoosier Boys’ Town, a community where at-risk boys could find a second chance. In the early 2000’s our name was changed to Campagna Academy when we started having girls on campus.”
Representing My School Dance, a free online school dance and event management software, was Taylor Buckley, Jarrod Fodemski, Stephanie Hamilton, Evan Masters, and Stephen Vulpitta.
Taylor Buckley, Chief Operations Officer, said, “This was a great way for our company to give back to the community!”
The My School Dance members worked together to set up the donation and supply room for the kids at Campagna Academy. They organized the store with donations of clothes, shoes, and other items for the kids. This way when the staff at Campagna Academy receive donations, they can all be organized neatly in one room. The kids will also get to go through and choose certain clothes that they want.
Szamatowicz said, “Each volunteer has a huge impact on our kids here at Campagna Academy. We are so thankful for My School Dance for selecting Campagna Academy as their 2019 Volunteer Day!”
