ansrsource, a global leader in innovative learning design and accessibility services, is offering a free course for universities to help instructors move efficiently and effectively to online instruction for students.
Online Learning SOS: Teaching Through a Pandemic is a one-hour, web-based, self-paced primer in online teaching that covers primary decision-points for teaching an online course and models an abbreviated version of an effective online course. The course emphasizes effective, engaging, impactful teaching.
ansrsource President and CEO Rajiv Narayana said, “Our mission is to make learning more effective, accessible, and affordable. We want all learners to have access to high-quality learning experiences, and we want to do our part during this global pandemic to help learners keep learning. Many schools have been forced to move quickly from in-person to online instruction. We hope this course helps to ease some the burden of this sudden shift.”
Beyond providing instruction, the course includes discussion boards that allow for questions and conversations among instructors. The discussion boards will be moderated by learning experts at ansrsource.
Daila Boufford, Associate Vice President of Learning Design at ansrsource, said, “Creating this course has been an inspiration. Very quickly, our team was able to come together to create and develop a high-value learning experience that capitalizes on the collective expertise of our instructional design team. Our goal with this course is to provide a lifeline during a time of crisis. The resources available in this course are designed to provide not only “how to’s” but also include sound pedagogical best practices that will keep learners engaged during this difficult time.”
