SolidProfessor Hosts A Virtual Education Summit on Preparing Students for Careers in Engineering, Architecture, and Manufacturing

Posted Jun 30, 2020

SAN DIEGO, CA - SolidProfessor has launched registration for its Virtual Education Summit on Aug. 4, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. PST. The online, one-day summit is focused on helping educators prepare students for careers in engineering, architecture, and manufacturing. The summit will bring together industry professionals, instructors, program and CTE directors, and school administrators from K-12 and postsecondary schools.

SolidProfessor Virtual Education Summit attendees will learn new, innovative ways to get their students career-ready from instructors, experts in education, and CAD, CAM, and BIM industry professionals. All speakers and breakout sessions will be hosted live through an easy-to-use online event platform. The Summit will kick off with two keynotes speakers. Anthony Salcito, Vice President of Worldwide Education at Microsoft will give his talk on the future of technology in our school systems. And Marie Planchard, Senior Director of Early Engagement and Education at SOLIDWORKS will be speaking about how educators can engage their students in the classroom.

After the summit’s keynotes, attendees will experience one of the two breakout session tracks: the K-12 Educator Track or the Postsecondary Educator Track. Currently, there are twelve 30- to 60-minute sessions for attendees to choose from. The summit’s session hosts are from organizations including SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk, Project Lead the Way (PLTW), Purdue University, Cape Fear Community College, Chicago Public Schools, and many more.

“This year has been incredibly challenging for teachers and administrators as they transitioned from in-person classrooms to distance learning during a global health pandemic,” says Tony Glocker, CEO and Cofounder of SolidProfessor. “Our mission for this Virtual Education Summit is to inspire and recharge educators by bringing together some of the brightest minds and innovators in engineering, architecture, and manufacturing education.”

The first 1000 attendees to register will receive a Virtual Gift Bag including a free voucher ($99 value) for either the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) or the Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP) exam. Plus, many of the breakout session hosts will be giving away their ready-to-use hands-on projects and other top resources for educators to use in their own curriculums.

The SolidProfessor Virtual Education Summit is sponsored by Autodesk, SOLIDWORKS, and PLTW.
