Dive Insight:
City College of San Francisco has struggled in recent years. It went through two interim chancellors before Tyler took the top position just 19 months ago, and it will now go back to interim leadership while fighting to keep its accreditation. A court injunction kept the college open even after the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges voted to revoke its accreditation three years ago. Several lawsuits followed, as losing accreditation would have forced the college to close because it would have become ineligible for state or federal funding. According to SF Gate, CCSF is still accredited but has various deficiencies it must address by fall 2016 before the accreditation board once again votes on its future.
