Dive Brief:
- Last week, superintendents from 43 west coast school districts gathered for the seventh annual Future Ready Schools regional summit in Mountain View, CA.
- While the theme of the conference was technology, discussions about specific applications or products were avoided. Instead, attendees discussed curriculum; instruction and assessment; professional learning; technology, networks, and hardware; budget and resources; data and privacy; use of time; and community partnerships.
- The next Future Ready Schools Regional Summit will be held May 18-19 in Houston.
Dive Insight:
So much of the conversation about tech in schools fall short, as school leaders limit the conversation to device type and the product. Future Ready helps expand that conversation to the actual goals of technology.
Administrators also walk away with real plans for their own schools. Individual Future Ready District Assessments are reviewed at the conference and updated as needed.
