Dive Brief:
- A University of Colorado professor who says she was pushed out over a lecture on prostitution got an OK from a peer review panel on the content of her course, but the school says that's not the final word.
- Patti Adler said she has not decided whether she would return to teach the class and is weighing a lawsuit against the school.
- In order for her to teach again, the executive committee of Adler's department would have to sign off on the review by her peers.
Dive Insight:
The review of the course was fast-tracked. Classes start again Jan. 13. The school has acknowledged that Adler was suspended from teaching her class after the prostitution lecture, but it has denied that she is being forced into retirement. Adler's husband says part of the impetus for a possible lawsuit is coming from other faculty members.
