Luca Lashes Announces ‘Raising Multilingual Children in a One-language Household’ Contest
eBook and app creators will reward four parents who share second language development tips with a Luca Lashes iTunes library
Chandler, AZ October 9, 2013 – Raising multilingual children in a household where the parents speak only one language can seem like a daunting task, yet plenty of parents do this every day. To help more parents learn from those having success with this undertaking, creators of the Luca Lashes® multilingual eBook and app series are holding a “Raising Multilingual Children in a One-language Household” contest. Parents who offer tips for fostering second language development in their children will have a chance to win a Luca Lashes iTunes app library of titles in one language of their choosing: Spanish, French, Italian, or Chinese.
Luca Lashes eBooks and apps turn “fearful firsts” for children into educational experiences and foster language development by offering eBooks in multiple languages and apps that allow for switching between languages. Select entries in the contest will be shared within the Luca Lashes e-newsletter.
All entries must be submitted on Luca Lashes’ Facebook page here between 12:01 a.m. (MST) on November 15, 2013 and 11:59 p.m. (MST) on December 15, 2013. There is no maximum number of entries that can be posted on Luca Lashes’ Facebook wall, however, submissions under 15 words or over the maximum of 100 words will be disqualified. This contest is open to parents from the United States only.
Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
Practicality (50%): Can other parents realistically implement the tip, suggestion, or strategy provided? Innovativeness/Creativity (50%): Is the tip provided unique and/or new?Entrants are welcome to have friends “Like” their entries on the Luca Lashes Facebook page, however, winners will be selected based on judging criteria noted above. Winners must have Facebook permissions set to receive emails, so they can be notified that they have won. For a complete set of rules, visit the Luca Lashes website.
Created by long-time educators Nicole and Damir Fonovich, the Luca Lashes® eBook and app series were inspired by their little boy, Lucas, and their desire to help him be brave in all his childhood discoveries. Many children fear the unknown, but with the help of a good story, and Luca’s magic lashes, they too can overcome their fears and learn from the world around them. The Luca Lashes® series makes first experiences, from hospital visits to swim lessons, a more positive experience for children and parents. All Luca Lashes stories are perfect for children under four years of age, as well as older children who either need additional coaching on conquering first experiences or those learning new languages.
Interested readers can also familiarize themselves with the Luca Lashes® series for free by downloading the first app in the series, Luca Lashes®, the Brown-Eyed Boy with the Magic Eyelashes on iTunes, Google play, the Amazon App Store, or NOOK.
